Restaurant Ante to Pirovac. 115kms

The place we stayed at last night had no name other than the name of the restaurant called, 'Ante'.  We had a nice spaghetti meal washed down with coke and some boiled potatoes. Our room was fantastic, nice thanks to air con and very quiet.

We rolled out of camp around 7am for the ride south not knowing where we would end up.  Peter wanted a holiday not planned to any timelines, just going for a ride and see what happens.  So, we pack up in the morning head south, that's all I know each day.  It has been a roaring success thus far.

Once again we were treated to a stunning sunrise and rocky cliffs following for the first 20kms of the ride.  We stopped for a banana roll at the local market and hit the road once again.  No sooner had we hit the tarmac and the traffic  came from nowhere.  I was so surprised at the amount of traffic and no shoulder to ride on.  I hate riding on unknown roads with no shoulder, you feel so vulnerable.

We passed through the towns of Turanj, Sveti Filip i Jakov and Drage, each one having a beautiful beach with hundreds of bodies to gaze upon. We didn't stop for a swim today as things seem to have got away from us.

Lunch was on a side street out the front of the local food market.  We sat down against the wall, pulled out the tuna and tomato and made a bread roll.

We started looking for a campsite around the 90km mark.  Some campsites had no shade, rocky ground so no pegs would go in, no electricity and we would have cooked without trees.  There was one in particular called camping osro. Peter went in to check the place but came out with a price tag of 58 Euro to pitch 2 one man tents.  Bullshit, for a night, they have to be joking. I suppose the Dutch do have a sense of humour after all.

The photo below was taken soon after we left our accommodation this morning.  I took it with my movie camera so quality is not that great.  It was during the first climb of the day.
The photo below is of one of the towns we rode through.  Interesting name to give a town.
By 4.30pm we had cycled 115kms and it was time to find our campsite for the night.  Peter found a great site with good cover, restaurant and wifi.  We set up the tents, my pole broke again, fixed by another copper sleeve, stayed up, and then went for a swim.

The small beach at the campsite was packed with tourists and very hard to find a place to put your towel down.  I did find a new towel on the road today, so I picked up and kept it.  Gave it a wash and now I have a towel for the beach.

Tomorrow we intend to do about 80kms to the town of Trogir and then a small ride into Split for our rest day.  Looking forward to a the rest day and some more time playing whales with the tourists.  I'm dying to call out 'shark', but Peter doesn't agree. I think I know what has to be done.

Until tomorrow, safe riding.
