Hi All
Just spoke to my dad on the phone. 5 TDA cyclists were held at gunpoint during todays ride.The riders stopped on the side of the road to take a short break. 4 bandits through rocks and spears at the cyclists as they attempted to get away. Shots were fired and spears were thrown. The bandits told them to lie on the road. 1 person was shot at but missed, another 3 were hit by the end of there spear.The bandits stole all of the cyclists belongings including the bikes.The military are currently searching for the 4 bandits.The tour may ride the truck tomorrow.This happened in North Kenya today 9/3. Dad is OK as he was 5 minutes ahead of the bunch that were held up.
Dad will have a full report when he can access internet.
