55ks and done for the day.

The Market Hotel we stayed at last night served breakfast at 7am.  By the time we got our breakfast of fruit, yogurt, banana pancake and a large coffee the time was now getting close to 8am.  This was getting late to start the day.

We rolled out of town thanks to Len's Garmin satnav unit to start our long ride north in Thailand.  We had a plan to reach the town of Non Din Daeng.  You will find it on google maps.  It was a 85khm journey if everything went to plan.

Well today the heat would stop us in our tracks.  We stopped at bus shelters along the way to try and get out of the sun and drink more water.  We rolled into a small down and decided that 11am was the right time for lunch.  This was a really nice town, small, but little shops selling everything you need.

When we got back on our bikes with the goal of riding another 30ks to end the day, my satnav was reading 109 degrees.  This was just too hot to continue riding.  We had seen a sign earlier on in the ride telling us about a small country ville about 4ks outside of the town we had our lunch.  We found the hotel and were shown a nice villa for 17 dollars.

The villa had air con, wifi, local TV and a really comfy bed.  There's one thing you need on a trip, and that's a good bed.  After a cold shower, wash my clothes it was time to eat once again.

With the day drawing to a close, we may have only ridden 56ks, but it was done with an average temp of 98.9 degrees.  Now that's hot.

Time to return to my book and crash.

Safe riding.

Don't forget you can make a very small donation to eXsight tandems by hitting the paypal icon on the top right of the screen.  You can be 100% assured that every dollar raised stays in the Illawarra and supports vision impaired people who love to go for a ride.
